INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY



(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

11.6 to 12.4 Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the injector assembly.

(b) Remove the fuel pipe clamp.

(c) Disconnect the fuel tube.

(d) Connect SST to the fuel pipe (the vehicle side).

(e) Install the O-ring to the fuel injector.

(f) Install SST and the tube to the fuel injector.

(g) Put the injector into a graduated cylinder.

CAUTION:

Install a strong rubber tube onto the injector to prevent gasoline from splashing.

(h) Operate the fuel pump (turn the ignition switch to ON).

(i) Connect SST (wire) to the injector and the battery for 15 seconds, and measure the injection volume with the graduated cylinder. Test each injector 2 or 3 times.

56 to 69 cm3 (3.4 to 4.2 cu in.) per 15 seconds

13 cm3 (0.8 cu in.) or less

If the injection volume is not as specified, replace the injector.

(j) Check for fuel leak.

(1) In the condition above, disconnect the tester probes of SST (wire) from the battery and check for fuel leakage from the injector.

Standard fuel drop:

1 drop or less per 12 minutes
